Esteban Gutierrez will be forced to sit out qualifying ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix after a crash in final practice.
Gutierrez crashed out at turn four early into the final practice, briefly bringing out the red flags to call a temporary halt to the hour-long session.
The Mexican’s Sauber team confirmed prior to qualifying that Gutierrez will indeed miss the session that will decide the grid for Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix, owing to irreparable damage to the chassis of the C33.
As a result, Gutierrez will start from the back of the grid tomorrow.
