Romain Grosjean will start Sunday’s Austrian Grand Prix from the pit lane after his Lotus team opted to make set-up changes to the Frenchman’s car under parc ferme conditions.
Grosjean qualified 16th on Saturday, and was due to start the race from 15th on the grid after Sergio Perez’s penalty was enforced.
However, following qualifying Lotus decided that changes to the aerodynamic settings at the rear of Grosjean’s E22 were necessary, forcing the Frenchman to start from the pit lane.
The gearbox in Grosjean’s car has also been changed.
