McLaren’s day cut short by hydraulic leak

McLaren has been forced to cut short its testing programme on the opening day of the final pre-season test in Barcelona.

Jenson Button completed just seven laps of the Circuit de Catalunya in the rain-affected morning session before the team encountered a hydraulic problem with the Honda-powered MP4-30.

McLaren says the problem requires an engine change, and will take up the remainder of the day’s running.
