Force India debuted its new 2015 Formula 1 car – the VJM08 – on Friday in Barcelona.
Nico Hulkenberg took to the track at the wheel of the team’s new car just after midday at the Circuit de Catalunya.
The German completed a single installation lap of the Spanish circuit before returning to the pits.
Force India had planned to debut its new car during the afternoon session, as the team crew worked on the car build in the morning, but the VJM08 broke cover before the lunchtime break, ahead of schedule.
The team missed the opening test at Jerez, and ran its year-old car at the second pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya.
Hulkenberg is scheduled to drive the VJM08 for the remainder of the day, before handing over to team-mate Sergio Perez on Saturday.
