Renault Sport director of operations Remi Taffin is still confident the French firm can win in Formula 1 this season, despite a difficult start to 2015.
Renault scored three wins in 2014, but has experienced a miserable start to the campaign, encountering a series of driveability and reliability problems with partners Red Bull and Toro Rosso.
These early setbacks prompted a public row between Red Bull and its French engine partner ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix, but Taffin is still sure that Renault can turn around its season.
“I think we can win and both Toro Rosso and Red Bull will help us just do that,” Taffin told France’s Canal+.
“Let’s not forget that in-season developments are allowed on the engine as well as on the chassis. There is still a lot more to come.
“We’re talking about Red Bull! They’ve won four world championships and remain a top team and a big organisation, so I think we can make it happen.
“As for the power unit, our current development programme is pretty aggressive and uncompromising. We acknowledged that we were behind.
“Now, the season has just started; we’ve got plenty of items up our sleeves and look to help our clients succeed.”
