Lewis Hamilton has dismissed Nico Rosberg’s claims that he compromised his race during the Chinese Grand Prix.
Rosberg accused his team-mate of deliberately slowing during the middle stint of the race, in an effort to back him into Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, who was running third.
However, Hamilton, who went on to win the race, says he was focused on his own performance, not on playing games.
“It’s not my job to look after Nico’s race,” Hamilton said. “It’s my job to manage the car and bring the car home as healthy and as fast as possible.
“That’s what I did, I didn’t do anything intentionally to slow any of the cars up.
“I was just focused on myself. If Nico wanted to get by he could have tried, but he didn’t.”
