Nico Rosberg has been reprimanded after incorrectly entering the pitlane during opening practice for the Spanish Grand Prix.
Rosberg was attempting to enter the pits just over an hour into the 90-minute long session when he ran across the white line beyond the bollard which defines the pit entry.
The FIA stewards opted to hand the German his first reprimand of the season, insisting that all drivers had been made aware of the bollard.
“The driver crossed the line separating the pit entry from the track and did not stay to the right of the bollard, as required in the Race Director’s Event Notes,” read a statement by the stewards.
Rosberg topped the opening session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, beating his Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton by 0.070s.
