Penske’s Will Power set the pace during Sunday morning warm-up ahead of the IndyCar season finale at Sonoma.
Power, who will start Sunday’s race from pole, clocked a time of 1m17.610s to top the final practice session of the campaign, a tenth of a second clear of Takuma Sato.
Power’s Penske team-mate Simon Pagenaud was third, ahead of title hopeful Graham Rahal and Sebastien Bourdais.
Helio Castroneves, who still holds an outside chance of claiming the title, was sixth for Penske, with team-mate and points leader Juan Pablo Montota ninth quickest.
Ganassi’s Scott Dixon ended final practice 12th, with fellow title challenger Josef Newgarden – who will start alongside Power on the front row – down in 17th.
